Mineral turpentine oil (mto)—also known as white spirit or petroleum spirits—is a clear, volatile, and flammable hydrocarbon solvent distilled from petroleum. It is widely used in paint, varnish, and printing ink industries as a thinner and cleaning agent, due to its excellent solvency and low toxicity compared to stronger industrial solvents. Key Features: Appearance: Clear, water-white liquid with a mild petroleum odor. Volatility: Highly volatile; evaporates quickly at room temperature. Flash Point: Typically between 30°C and 40°C, depending on the grade. Boiling Range: Approx. 150°C to 200°C.
